GLAD TO BE BACK
While the boss was away Duffield did well - now Brian Hargrave is back and hoping for more heroics ...

Benz-Bavarian Duffield v Wolverhampton

Tuesday 20 January 2004 at 7pm

I am back from my travels after missing only my second NL tie in 11 years and was delighted with our narrow win at Manchester Northern in round 6.

I have just received a message that Jon Kemp has changed his flight from Calgary in Canada and will now play which means that we should be at full strength for the first time this season. However, we are expecting our usual close encounter with the opposition including talented former Duffield player Alex Gough and Mark Cairns, one of the biggests thorns in our side over the past 10 years.

The expected line ups are :

Nick Matthew ( world 11) v Alex Gough ( world 23)
Dan Jenson ( world 33) v Mark Cairns ( National 035 champion)
Paul Hargrave ( eng 17)v Liam Kenny (world 61)
Jonathan Kemp ( eng 21) v Chris Ryder
Cassie Jackman (eng 1 world 2) v Dominique Lloyd-Walter(eng11 world 24)

With Edgbaston Priory being comprehensively beaten 5-0 by a full-strength Nottingham in round 6, Duffield sit only four points behind the second-placed Birmingham side with four matches remaining.

A win tomorrow would still leave us the daunting task of facing three very strong play-off rivals in the last three ties of the season.
