THE SEASON STARTS HERE
Wolverhampton and Edgbaston teams for the first match on 5th October offer an intriguing match
Matt Suckling and i have been able to sort our teams out for the first match in good time and the 5 ties all promise some exciting and possibly unpredicable squash. Both sides are near full strength though Wolverhampton are missing Alex Gough, away in the US and Edgbaston have Del Harris unavailable. Subject as usual to any injuries occuring over the next 10 days or so the line up on the night will be:Anthony Ricketts (WR 13) vs David Palmer (WR4) Scott Handley (WR 67) vs Adrian Grant (WR 16) Mark Cairns vs Peter Barker (WR 36) Liam Kenny (WR 69) vs Hadrian Stiff Shelley Kitchen (WR 14) vs Isabelle Stoehr (WR 15) On paper Edgbaston have the edge but it will be a brave man to predict the outcome of any of the matches with certaincy. Anthony fully recovered from injury against the determined David Palmer, Scott much lower ranked but always dangerous against one of the fastest improving younsters around, the old against the young with Mark's experience versus Petet's youth, Liam now free from illness against a wily Hadrian and the two ladies seperated by only the one ranking place. Couldn't really be better, I just hope that my nerves will stand it!
