Wycombe Squash & Racketball Club is seeking an enthusiastic individual who has the organisational and people skills to manage the day-to-day operations of the club and further develop and improve our sports provision for the benefit of our existing members and to attract new ones.

WSRC is a busy and welcoming club, with five well maintained courts, changing rooms and bar / viewing area, located on the boundary of High Wycombe and Marlow (junction 4 on M40). We are a not-for-profit organisation, with over 300 members and are the premier squash & racketball club in the area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the club operation, including reception, bar, bookings and equipment sales

  • Providing a friendly, high quality service to members and potential members

  • Managing the team of staff

  • Promoting and marketing the club externally and to members, to increase membership and usage

The particular duties of the role could be adjusted to include delivery of squash/racketball coaching if this was attractive to the preferred candidate and the club. 

Experience and Skills

  • Management and operation of a club

  • Staff management

  • Facilities management, including a bar

  • Self-motivated and flexible; able to work on own initiative and as part of a team

  • Good organisation and planning skills

  • Able to build rapport with and earn the respect of individuals and organisations

Elite Performance Coach

A visionary, inspirational leader who will:

  • achieve medal performances at World, Commonwealth and European level

  • lead a performance and coaching culture

  • Set a 10 year Performance strategy in partnership with the National Coach

Flexible with some time at Heriot Watt University

Salary: 65,000 - 70,000
       (Part time post up to 0.5 pro rata).

An inspirational leader and manager of players and pathways who will:

  • Implement annual performance
    programmes in line with the 10 year performance strategy

  • Lead and manage a performance coaching culture.

  • Manage the pathways that underpin the achievement of medal winning performances at World, Commonwealth and European level.

Location: Centre for Sport and Exercise Science at Heriot Watt University.

35,000 - 40,000 Full time post

Closing date: 18th March 2016 12 noon

 Contract:  The posts are funded by SportScotland and for a fixed term, starting as soon as possible, until 31 May 2018 with the likelihood of extension dependent on results.
