The National Squash League kicks off on Tuesday 5th October, featuring five teams in the North/Midlands Group A, and four in the Southern Group B ...
In round one Wolverhampton entertain
last year's runners-up Edgbaston
Priory, with both sides featuring Australians at the top of the
order. World number four David Palmer leads Edgbaston into the fray,
and is set to face Wolverhampton's Anthony Ricketts at number one. The
women's match at number five will also have an antipodean flavour, with
five-time world champion Sarah Fitz-Gerald Edgbaston's top lady, while
Wolverhampton can call on Kiwi Shelley Kitchen, the world number
fourteen.
In the other first night fixtures champions Manchester-Pontefract take on Nottingham, while in group B Team Chichester renew their old
rivalry with UniSport Guildford,
and Lee on Solent take on Sue
Wright's Oberthur Strings.
Sitting out round one are Benz Bavarian Duffield, but Duffield
supremo Brian Hargrave will be keeping a close eye on proceedings as he
prepares to take us 'inside the National League' once again.
