Round 1: Sarfraz & Pakay Claim Upsets In Wah Cantt
Local players Aliya Sarfraz and Anna Batool Kardar scored impressive upsets to claim surprise places in the quarter-finals of the Women's POF Wah Cantt Squash Open at the Jahangir Khan Squash Centre in Wah Cantt, Pakistan.

Sarfraz, a qualifier, defeated compatriot Anna Batool Kardar, the sixth seed, 9-1, 9-5, 10-8, while unseeded Maria Toor Pakay survived a five-game battle with fourth seed Siti Munirah Jusoh to beat the Malaysian 5-9, 10-8, 6-9, 9-3, 9-0.

Meanwhile Malaysians Sharon Wee and Delia Arnold remain on course to meet in the final after overcoming Pakistanis in the first round. Wee, the favourite, beat Zoya Khalid 9-1, 9-1, 9-2, while second seed Arnold despatched qualifier Mahwish Hanif 9-5, 9-2, 9-1.

Quarter-final:
Pakay Powers On In Wah Cantt

Unseeded Maria Toor Pakay maintained local interest through to the last four of the Women's POF Wah Cantt Squash Open when she overcame Pakistani compatriot Aliya Sarfraz to claim her maiden appearance in the semi-finals of a WISPA World Tour event at the Jahangir Khan Squash Centre in Wah Cantt, Pakistan.

The 15-year-old from Peshawar, winner of the Pakistan National title last year, beat qualifier Sarfraz 9-3, 9-3, 9-1 and will now face second seed Delia Arnold after the Malaysian beat South Africa's No8 seed Adel Weir 9-2, 9-2, 9-4.
v
There will be Malaysian interest in the other semi-final when top seed Sharon Wee takes on England's No3 seed Kirsty McPhee after both players dropped only a handful of points between them in their quarter-finals. Wee beat Pakistan's fifth seed Muqaddas Ashraf 9-1, 9-0, 9-2, while McPhee also overcame local opposition in her 9-0, 9-1, 9-0 dismissal of Saima Shoukat.

Semis and final:
Wee One Better In Wah Cantt

Malaysia's Sharon Wee went one better in today's (Tuesday) final of the Women's POF Wah Cantt Squash Open when she beat compatriot Delia Arnold in straight games to make up for the disappointment of finishing as runner-up in the inaugural WISPA World Tour event last year at the Jahangir Khan Squash Centre in Wah Cantt, Pakistan.

The Antwerp-based top seed maintained her straight games run through the tournament when she dismissed Arnold, the No2 seed, 9-2, 9-3, 9-3.

The success marks the fifth WISPA World Tour title of 28-year-old Wee's career.
