Scott Scores Maiden PSA Title – On Home Soil!
It was third time lucky for Australia's Scott Arnold in the Hilton Squash Open when he beat Malaysian Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan in the final of the new PSA Tour event in Hilton, Western Australia, to secure his maiden PSA title in his third appearance in a final.
Runner-up in New Zealand's North Island Championship in July last year, then the Prague Open in the Czech Republic in May, fourth seed Arnold reached his first PSA final on home soil after upsetting second-seeded compatriot Steve Finitsis in the semi-finals.
The 20-year-old from Sydney recovered from a game down to beat third seed Adnan 9-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6 to make his Tour breakthrough.
Top Seeds Ousted In Hilton
Australia's Scott Arnold upset second-seeded compatriot Steve Finitsis 8-11, 11-10 (2-0), 11-9, 11-9 in today's (Saturday) semi-finals of the Hilton Squash Open to claim an unexpected place in the final in the PSA Tour event in Hilton, Western Australia.
The 20-year-old from Sydney will face Malaysian Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan, the third seed who beat unseeded Australian Ryan Cuskelly 11-10 (4-2), 11-7, 8-11, 9-11, 11-4 in the other semi-final. Cuskelly had ousted favourite Timothy Arnold in the quarter-finals.
