Fourth Time Lucky For Bianchetti In Brescia

It was fourth time lucky for Italian squash star Davide Bianchetti when he clinched the Mega Italia Open title after beating Egypt's Omar Abdel Aziz in the final of the PSA Tour event in his hometown of Brescia.

Runner-up in 2000, 2002 and 2003, favourite Bianchetti reached his fourth Mega final when he beat Kuwait's No3 seed Bader Al Hussaini in the semi-finals.

Sixth seed Omar Abdel Aziz upset two higher-ranked players to reach the Brescia climax,  his third PSA final appearance in less than two months.

But the 22-year-old from Cairo was no match for the hometown boy Bianchetti who won 11-7 11-6 11-5 in 40 minutes to claim the fifth PSA title of his career - but the first on home soil.

Omar Overcomes O'Brien In Mega Italia Semi

Egypt's Omar Abdel Aziz maintained his 'giant-killing' run in the Mega Italia Squash Open in Italy when he upset New Zealand's fourth seed Callum O'Brien 6-11, 11-5, 2-11, 11-2, 11-7 in 72 minutes in the semi-finals of the PSA Tour event at the Millennium Sport Centre in Brescia.

The 22-year-old from Cairo upset another New Zealander, second seed Kashif Shuja, in the quarter-finals and now celebrates his third PSA final appearance in less than two months.

Aziz meets Italian favourite Davide Bianchetti in the final. The Brescia-based 29-year-old made it through to his fourth Mega Italia final in six years when he brushed aside Kuwait's No3 seed Bader Al Hussaini 11-2, 11-4, 11-5 in 39 minutes.

After defeats in the finals in 2000, 2002 and 2003, Bianchetti will be hoping that it will be fourth time lucky!

Omar Shakes Shuja In Mega Italia Upset

Surprise winner of two PSA Tour titles last month, Egypt's Omar Abdel Aziz began a determined bid to net a third when he upset New Zealand's second seed Kashif Shuja in the quarter-finals of the Mega Italia Squash Open at the Millennium Sport Centre in Brescia, Italy.

The 22-year-old from Cairo beat Pakistan-born Shuja 10-11 (0-2), 11-9, 11-3, 11-4 in 46 minutes.

Aziz will now face another New Zealander, fourth seed Callum O'Brien who battled for 54 minutes to overcome France's Yann Perrin 11-7, 11-6, 10-11 (0-2), 11-8.

Top seed Davide Bianchetti survived an all-Italian clash with Luca Mastrostefano, beating the fifth seed 11-6, 11-9, 11-3 to set up a semi-final meeting with Kuwaiti Bader Al Hussaini, the third seed.

Bianchetti is seeking his first Mega Italia title in his hometown of Brescia after three-times being beaten in the final.
