Rodriguez Takes 2014 Abierto Colombiano Title

#PSAWorldTour

Miguel Angel Rodriguez delighted the locals in Bogota to claim his third Abierto Colombiano de Squash Club El Nogal title, taking the PSA International 50 crown after defeating Egyptian Omar Mossad in thrilling 63-minute finale.

Rodriguez disposed of tournament favourite Simon Rösner in the semi-finals, following impressive victories over Cesar Salazar and Omar Abdel Meguid in the opening rounds, and the World No.14 continued his fine run of form to come from behind and see off the higher ranked, and number two seed, Mossad 9-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-1.

In a tense opening game, it was Mossad who prevailed in a battle of attrition, taking 23-minutes to notch a 1-0 lead on the scoreboard but the dynamic crowd favourite Rodriguez responded, mixing up his attacking play to stretch the World No.13 and force the errors which eventually saw him add to his previous victories in 2008 and 2010.
