Local
hero Mike Corren won his third South Australian Open crown
and his 46th title on the PSA World Tour when he beat Taiwan's
James Huang in the final of the PSA Challenger 5 squash event
at Revive Fitness Centre in Plympton Park, South
Australia.
In his
65th Tour final, top seed Corren was too strong for Huang, winning 11-7,
5-11, 11-9, 11-8 in 61 minutes to add the 2013 title to his successes in
2008 and 2010.
It was
the 39-year-old from the state capital Adelaide's third successive Tour
title triumph, after winning this month's Barossa Valley Open and
the City of Perth International Challenge last month.
His
opponent Huang was marking his maiden PSA Tour final. The 27-year-old
third seed from Taipei City - ranked 137 in the world - made his
breakthrough in the semi-finals where he upset second-seeded Australian
Justin Beard 11-7, 10-12, 11-5, 11-3 in 52 minutes.
Corren
now has a break until next month's Victorian and Tasmanian Opens.
