It's A Hedrick Double In Alice Springs

Top seed Rex Hedrick made it back to back PSA World Tour titles on home soil in Australia when he beat New Zealander Evan Williams in the final of the NT Link Alice Springs Open, the PSA Challenger 5 squash event at Alice Springs Squash Centre in Alice Springs.

Hedrick claimed his seventh Tour title with his 65-minute 6-11, 11-2, 13-11, 11-7 win over third-seeded Williams.

The 24-year-old from Melbourne now has 10 days off before trying to qualify for the Hong Kong Football Club PSA International 25, while Williams heads to next week's City of Perth International full of confidence.

"It's my seventh title, but I know I have to go out and play the bigger tournaments - that's why I am going to Hong Kong," said Hedrick.

"It was a tough final though, probably the toughest of all seven I've won. I had a really tough second round match (against England's Adam Auckland) and once you're sore, it's really hard to recover.

"But that's how strong these tournaments in Australia are now. I've barely played an Australian in the last two weeks, so it's great to get that exposure to different styles of play."
