Abdullah Al Muzayen marked an impressive record in the new PSA Challenger
10 IKEA International Squash 2012 in his home country when he secured his
tenth successive victory in a PSA World Tour final.
The top-seeded
24-year-old had to fight off Egyptian challenges in the final two rounds at the
South Surrah Ministries Complex in Kuwait City - first beating
qualifier Fares Mohamed Dessouki in the semis, then recovering from two
games down in the final to overcome third seed Mazen Hesham Ga Sabry
9-11, 8-11, 12-10, 11-5, 11-7 in 53 minutes.
Al Muzayen,
who celebrated a career-high world No46 ranking this month, boasts a remarkable
record in PSA Tour finals - having now won 13 out of the 16 he has contested,
including ten in a row since winning the Progetto 6
Open in Italy in December 2010.
