Le Roux Lifts Gauteng Crown

RESULTS: PSA Challenger 5 Central Gauteng Open, Johannesburg, South Africa

Top seed Shaun le Roux prevailed in an all-South African Central Gauteng Open final to win the inaugural PSA World Tour Challenger 5 squash event at the Parkview Squash Club in Johannesburg.

It was a battle between the top two seeds - favourite Le Roux reaching the climax after stopping unseeded fellow countryman Thoboki Mohohlo, and his opponent Clinton Leeuw, the No2 seed, ending the giant-killing run of Craig van der Wath, the 46-year-old tournament promoter and a former Tour regular.

Leeuw, the South African number three, took a 2/1 lead in the final - but second-ranked Le Roux recovered the advantage before closing out the match 11-6, 9-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-9.

The win marks the UK-based 25-year-old's sixth career Tour title - and his second of the year.
