Egypt's Andrew Wagih Shoukry upset top seed Jan Koukal in
the final of the Tour de las Americas Regatas Resistencia Open to
win the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event at Club
Regatas Resistencia in Resistencia, Argentina.
The
21-year-old from Cairo took the opening game, but Czech number one
Koukal battled back to draw level.
"The
third was a pretty even game, similar to the one before, but this time
won by the Egyptian," said tournament spokesman Ramiro Maldonado.
"Once in the fourth, Shoukry achieved to put himself together again,
hitting a good combination of winners and some precise cross court
drives, taking out from Koukal the possibility to attack, leading him
again to win the game and the match."
Shoukry's 11-3, 11-13, 11-9, 11-7 victory in 65 minutes marks the
Egyptian's fifth PSA Tour title - but his first of the year.

Top
seeds Jan Koukal and Andrew Wagih Shoukry will contest the
final of the Tour de las Americas Regatas Resistencia Open after
straight games wins in the semi-finals of the PSA World Tour
Challenger 10 squash event at Club Regatas Resistencia in
Resistencia, Argentina.
Czech
number one Koukal, the defending champion, ended Alex Ingham's
impressive run by beating the unseeded Englishman 11-5, 15-13, 11-7 to
clock up the 35th PSA Tour final of his career - and his second this
year.
Wagih
Shoukry, the second seed from Egypt, disappointed the local crowd by
ousting home hero Gonzalo Miranda, the No4 seed from Argentina,
14-12, 11-8, 11-3.
The
21-year-old from Cairo is celebrating his 11th Tour final.
