RESULTS: PSA Challenger 5 Milad Open, Gorgan, Iran

Farhan Zaman Wins In Iran

Pakistan's Farhan Zaman has claimed his first PSA World Tour squash title after winning the inaugural Milad Open in Iran.

Seeded two in the PSA Challenger 5 event at Golestan Squash Centre in Gorgan, Zaman reached the final after straight games wins over opponents from three different nations.

And it was a surprise player from a fourth different country that faced the 18-year-old from Peshawar in the final.

Unseeded Kuwaiti Ammar Al-Tamimi made his breakthrough in the quarter-finals where he upset Pakistani Basem Makram, beating the top seed 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 in just 12 minutes.

The 22-year-old from Kuwait went on to defeat third-seeded Iranian Mohammad Reza Sadeghpour in the semi-finals to reach the first Tour final of his career.

But there was no stopping Pakistani teenager Zaman - who battled for 44 minutes to overcome Al-Tamimi 15-13, 6-11, 11-5, 11-7 to become a Tour title winner for the first time.
