To British Success In Calgary
Top seed
Chris Simpson prevailed in an all-British final of the Talisman Energy
Bankers Hall Club Pro Am in Canada to clinch the title in the eighth staging
of the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event at Bankers Hall Club
in Calgary.
The
23-year-old from Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, led the top four seeds
through to the semi-finals - where he defeated Hong Kong's fourth seed Max
Lee to make the fourth PSA Tour final of his career.
His opponent
was the Scottish number one Alan Clyne, the No2 seed who overcame
third-seeded Malaysian Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan in the other semi.
The Britons
battled for 67 minutes in the climax - with Simpson extending his unbeaten
record in Tour finals by securing his fourth title following an 11-6, 11-7,
2-11, 11-9 victory over the 24-year-old Scot.
