Reda Rallies To Tenth Tour Title In Kuwait

Mohd Ali Anwar Reda marked up the tenth Tour title of his brief career at the Jena Real Estates Open No2 in Kuwait - but the top seed from Egypt had to fight off still opposition from both fellow countrymen and local players before winning the $15,000 PSA World Tour squash title at the Qadsia Sporting Club in Hawally.

The world No28 from Cairo was taken to five games by unseeded Abdullah Almezayen in the quarter-finals before beating the Kuwaiti number one, ranked more than 70 places lower, 8-11, 11-8, 11-3, 5-11, 11-3.

It took four games for 21-year-old Reda to overcome seventh-seeded compatriot Andrew Wagih Shoukry in the semi-finals before he faced unseeded Egyptian Ali Farag - also from Cairo - in the final.

Teenager Farag was making his PSA Tour final debut - but the 18-year-old extended Reda to five games before the favourite finally emerged triumphant 11-2, 8-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-3 after 63 minutes.
