Beddoes Bounces To US Title Success

Without dropping a game throughout the tournament, England's Emma Beddoes romped to success in the inaugural Hamptons Open after beating fellow countrywoman Suzie Pierrepont in the final at Southampton Town Recreation Centre in Southampton in New York.

In the semi-finals, top seed Beddoes crushed fourth-seeded Canadian Stephanie Edmison 11-2, 11-0, 11-3 to reach the ninth Tour final of her career.

In the other semi, US-based second seed Pierrepont had to recover from a game down to overcome promising US junior Olivia Blatchford, the No3 seed.

But Beddoes, the 24-year-old world No33 from Nottingham, was in command throughout the final - beating Pierrepont 11-4, 11-6, 11-3 to claim the fourth Tour title of her career.
