Spectators Invited to National Club Championship Finals in Nottingham

Spectators Invited to National Club Championship Finals in Nottingham

The finals of the National Club Championships is upon us once again this weekend (15-16 May) . Finals from all categories are spread out over the weekend in what should be a great festival of squash & racketball with players representing clubs from across the country. Nottingham SRC will play host to the finals as Men’s and Women’s teams compete against each other for the chance to represent England in the European Club Championships as Juniors, Masters and Racketball players battle against each other for the right to name themselves the best club team in the country.

Colets will once again return as holders of the Men’s Championships with Pontefract, Duffield and Wolverhampton looking to wrestle it from the clutches of the Surrey Club who are looking to win the championships for the 10th time since they first won it back in 1994. Pontefract and Colets are also challengers in the Women’s Championship, they will have their work cut out as reigning champions Edgbaston Priory are back to defend the title.

Colets are also present with their Men’s O35 team, runners up in last year’s competition following a 5 year undefeated streak they will no doubt be looking to re capture the championship as they face Dunnington. Boston will challenge Racquets Thame for Men’s O45 glory as Nottingham will hope home court advantage has an effect as they take on Bourne in the Men’s O55 Final.

Pontefract are back in the hunt for the Junior Mixed championship hoping to make it a 7th title since the Junior competition began in 1995, they will come up against Edgbaston Priory or Wimbledon who face off in their semi final on the Saturday. The Racketball Final looks to be very competitive as Edgbaston Priory - inspired from hosting the National Racketball Championships last weekend, face reigning champions Devon & Exeter.
