Mansoor Maintains Momentum Over Mehboob

Pakistan's former world No11 Mansoor Zaman gave his career a much-needed boost when he extended his winning PSA World Tour run over Waqar Mehboob in the final of the PSO Pakistan Circuit No1 to win the $12,000 event at the Punjab Squash Complex in the Pakistan city of Lahore.

The 29-year-old from Peshawar has slumped to 108 - his lowest ranking since the first month of the new millennium – but battled through to the final of the first PSA Tour event in his home country since November 2008, where he faced Mehboob, the top seed.

Mehboob, also from Peshawar and ranked more than 30 places higher than Zaman, twice led in the match.

But it was left-hander Zaman that eventually prevailed 8-11, 11-5, 10-12, 11-4, 11-4 after 51 minutes to claim the seventh Tour title of his career – but his first since February 2008.
