Meguid Makes His Mark In Saint Petersburg Open

Egypt's Omar Abdel Meguid became the surprise winner of the inaugural Saint Petersburg Open after upsetting top seed Andrew McDougall in the final of the $3,000 PSA World Tour squash event at Tauras Fitness Sports Club in Saint Petersburg in Russia.

The 21-year-old second seed from Giza reached the final without dropping a game – and maintained his 'clean sheet' in the event with a 12-10, 11-6, 11-4 victory over the Canadian favourite in 42 minutes.

The win extends his portfolio of PSA Tour titles to two – and extends his unbeaten record in Tour finals.
