Miller Flourishes In Flying Pig Open In Ohio

Freed from the responsibility of also being the tournament organiser, Canada's Alana Miller swept to victory in the Women's Flying Pig Open, the $7,100 WISPA World Tour squash event in its maiden year at the Cincinnati Country Club in Cincinnati in the US state of Ohio.

It was only a week ago that the three-time Canadian National champion organised the Meadowood Pharmacy Open at her home club in Winnipeg, finishing in the last four.

But the refreshed 29-year-old world No46 reached eight places above her in the WISPA world rankings to beat top seed Lisa Camilleri in the Cincinnati final.

Second seed Miller defeated the Australian 11-7, 11-7, 7-11, 11-7 to clinch the second Tour title of her career, more than two years after celebrating her maiden success at the Royal Glenora Club Open on home soil in Edmonton.
