Alarcon Conquers Tour De Las Americas In Peru

Brazilian Rafael F Alarcon made a clean sweep of the three "Tour de las Americas" squash titles in South America by winning the Peru Open, the final event in the PSA World Tour series at Club Regatas in the Peru capital Lima.

The 32-year-old from Sao Paulo began his impressive run in Paraguay, upsetting the top seed to claim the Paraguay Open crown in the country's capital city Asuncion

Last week, he continued his run on home soil, winning the Ponta Grossa-Parana Open in Ponta Grossa.

In the $6,000 PSA Tour Satellite event in Lima, the top-seeded Brazilian downed an Italian, a fellow countryman and then third-seeded Englishman Tom Pashley to make the final - where he faced Kristian Frost Olesen.

The 20-year-old second seed from Denmark was celebrating his maiden appearance in a PSA Tour final.

But Alarcon, a veteran of 16 Tour finals, was too strong for the Dane, winning 11-7, 11-4, 11-5 to secure not only a hat-trick of Tour de las Americas titles, but the 12th PSA trophy of his career.
