Salazar Stops Clyne Climb In Calgary

Mexican Arturo Salazar brought to an end the giant-killing run of Scottish qualifier Alan Clyne in the final of the Talisman Energy Bankers Hall Club Open to win the $10,000 PSA Tour squash event title at Bankers Hall Club in Calgary, Canada.

The 21-year-old second seed from San Luis Potosi claimed his anticipated place in the final without dropping a game.

Meanwhile Clyne, 22, from Edinburgh, followed his shock victory over top seed Jan Koukal in the quarter-finals by despatching fourth-seeded Malaysian Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan to reach his second surprise Tour final in four months.

Salazar battled for 48 minutes for his victory - saving a game ball in the second game before finally prevailing 11-2, 13-11, 13-11 to claim the third PSA Tour title of his career, and the second in Canada.

Clyne Clinches Calgary Semi

Scottish qualifier Alan Clyne claimed the ultimate upset in the quarter-finals of the Talisman Energy Bankers Hall Club Open when he ousted top seed Jan Koukal to reach the semi-finals of the $10,000 PSA Tour squash event at Bankers Hall Club in Calgary, Canada.

The 22-year-old from Edinburgh beat Czech Koukal 11-6, 11-5, 4-11, 11-3 in 41 minutes and will now face fourth-seeded Malaysian Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan for a place in the final.
