Mak Makes Tour Title Debut In Pakistan
Competing in her 81st WISPA World Tour event since joining the Women's International Squash Players' Association more than 11 years ago, Christina Mak finally took her place on the winner's podium of an international event when she won the Women's Warid Pakistan Open title in Islamabad.

The top seed from Hong Kong reached the final of this inaugural Tour event in Pakistan without dropping a game.

But it took the 29-year-old 56 minutes to overcome Australia's No2 seed Donna Urquhart, 20, from Queensland, 9-2, 9-3, 7-9, 9-7 to celebrate her historic Tour breakthrough.

Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, was the Chief Guest at the final Ceremony. Also present at the occasion, to award trophies to the winner and runner up, were Mr Umar Haider, GM Govt. Relations from WARID Telecom, and AVM Asim Suleiman, Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Squash Federation.

Top Seeds To Contest Pakistan Open Final
The top two seeds have emerged to contest the final of the WISPA World Tour's inaugural Women's Pakistan Open Squash Championship in Islamabad.

Hong Kong favourite Christina Mak dismissed Pakistan's No7 seed Muqaddas Ashraf in the quarter-finals before overcoming England's fourth seed Deon Saffery 9-5, 9-7, 9-1 in the semi-finals.

There was further English disappointment in the other semi-final when Australia's second seed Donna Urquhart defeated Kirsty McPhee, the third seed from Yorkshire, 9-1, 9-4, 9-2.

Both finalists are celebrating their second appearances in a WISPA final - with each seeking her maiden Tour success.

Mehboob Into Pakistan Quarters
Unseeded Rushna Mehboob beat fellow Pakistani Saima Shoukat, the No6 seed, in the only upset on the opening day of action in the Women's Pakistan Open Squash Championship in Islamabad.

Mehboob won 9-2, 7-9, 9-3, 9-2 in 33 minutes and will now face England's third seed Kirtsy McPhee in the quarter-finals - all four of which will feature local interest.
