Manetta Marks Maiden WISPA Trophy With Liberty Bell Title
Manuela Manetta celebrated her maiden WISPA World Tour title success in the USA when she won the Women's Liberty Bell Squash Open in Berwyn, Philadelphia.

The 23-year-old top seed from Italy dropped her first game of the tournament when she beat India's No3 seed Joshna Chinappa 9-5, 9-2, 6-9, 9-6.

In the final, Manetta faced Canada's fourth seed Alana Miller, the runner-up two years ago who ended seventh seed Tenille Swartz's run in the semi-finals.

It was level after the first two games, but the Italian surged ahead to beat the Pan American champion 9-5, 2-9, 9-4, 9-0.

Tenille Takes Out Blake In Liberty Bell Open
South African teenager Tenille Swartz clambered back from two games down to cause a significant upset in the quarter-finals of the Women's Liberty Bell Squash Open in Philadelphia in the USA.

The No7 seed beat Ireland's second seed Aisling Blake 6-9, 6-9, 10-8, 10-9, 9-4, and will now play Canada's fourth seed Alana Miller for a place in the final. Miller, the Panamerican Champion, beat compatriot Carolyn Russell, the Canadian national champion, 9-6, 9-3, 9-2.

The other semi-final will feature Italy's top seed Manuela Manetta and Indian number one Joshna Chinappa. Manetta beat England's No8 seed Lauren Siddall 9-6, 9-1, 9-3, while third seed Chinappa defeated another English opponent Georgina Stoker, the sixth seed, 9-5, 9-3, 9-7.

Manetta Strikes For Home In Liberty Bell Open
Manuela Manetta, a 23-year-old Italian seeded to win her maiden WISPA World Tour title, made a powerful start in the first round of the Women's Liberty Bell Squash Open in Berwyn in the US state of Philadelphia.

The top seed crushed Canadian Ashley Clackson 9-1, 9-0, 9-2, and will now meet England's Lauren Siddall for a place in the semi-finals.

Siddall, the No8 seed from Yorkshire, defeated USA qualifier Kristen Lange 9-1, 9-4, 9-5.

Second seed Aisling Blake also made it safely through to the last eight, beating USA qualifier Tara Chawla 9-3, 9-1, 9-3. Blake, from Ireland, now takes on teenager Tenille Swartz, the No7 seed from South Africa who beat American Britt Hebden 9-2, 9-0, 9-1.
