Golan Takes CAS Crown In Islamabad
Top seed Borja Golan recovered from a game down to beat local hero Mansoor Zaman in the final of the CAS Squash International to become the first Spaniard to win the established $25,000 PSA Tour event in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The 23-year-old from Santiago DC was 2/1 up in games, and two points clear in the fourth game, when Zaman retired with an injury after 46 minutes with the score standing at 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 2-0.

The success marks the 13th PSA Tour title for Golan – and leaves Zaman with the record of having reached the CAS final five times since 1998, with only one win!

Top Seeds To Contest CAS Final
The top two seeds Borja Golan and Mansoor Zaman will contest the final of the CAS Squash International after overcoming their opponents in today's (Sunday) semi-finals of the $25,000 PSA Tour event in Islamabad, Pakistan .

Golan, the top seed from Spain , maintained his straight games victory run in the event with an 11-6, 11-4, 11-8 win over Pakistani qualifier Shamsul Islam Khan in 32 minutes.

The 23-year-old from Santiago DC is celebrating his third PSA Tour final appearance this year – and will be looking for his third title of the year.

Mansoor Zaman, runner-up last year, kept local hopes of success alive when he beat England 's fourth seed Joey Barrington 11-7, 4-11, 11-7, 11-7 in 44 minutes. The left-hander from Peshawar – who won the CAS title in 2001 - is celebrating his fifth appearance in the event's final.

Mansoor Moves Into CAS Semis
Second seed Mansoor Zaman moved comfortably into the semi-finals of the CAS Squash International after defeating fellow Pakistani Aamir Atlas Khan in today's (Saturday) quarter-finals of the $25,000 PSA Tour event in Islamabad, Pakistan .

It was the left-hander from Peshawar 's second PSA win on 'home soil' in two months over 16-year-old Khan, also from Peshawar .

The 11-5, 11-7, 5-11, 11-10 (4-2) victory takes Zaman, runner-up twelve months ago, on to a clash with Englishman Joey Barrington – a re-enactment of battles their famous fathers Jonah Barrington and Qamar Zaman had three decades ago.

Barrington junior, the No4 seed, beat Pakistan-born New Zealander Kashif Shuja 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-8 in 60 minutes.

There will be local interest in the other semi-final after Shamsul Islam Khan overcame fellow Pakistani qualifier Farhan Mehboob 11-9, 5-11, 10-11 (6-8), 11-7, 11-3.

Khan will now face Borja Golan, the top seed from Spain who beat Egypt's No7 seed Omar Mosaad 11-4, 11-9, 11-10 (3-1).

Farhan & Shamsul Shock CAS Seeds
Qualifiers Shamsul Islam Khan and Farhan Mehboob caused notable upsets in today's (Friday) first round of the CAS Squash International to set up a shock all-Pakistani quarter-final of the $25,000 PSA Tour event in Islamabad, Pakistan .

Khan, from Karachi , took just 20 minutes to defeat third–seeded compatriot Shahid Zaman 11-10 (2-0), 11-2, 11-8 and will now face Mehboob for a surprise place in the semi-finals.

Mehboob, 18, from Peshawar , took out Egypt 's 6th seed Omar Abdel Aziz in an 11-5, 11-7, 11-6 scoreline.

The top two seeds secured their places in the last eight with equally-timed 28-minute victories in Islamabad . Spaniard Borja Golan, the favourite, beat Australia 's Aaron Frankcomb 11-5, 11-6, 11-1 while four-times CAS finalist Mansoor Zaman, the No2 seed from Pakistan , defeated fellow countryman Bilal Zaman 11-7, 11-9, 11-7
