Barker Bounces Ball Out Of Coastal Contacts Final In Vancouver
A close-fought all-English climax to the Coastal Contacts Jericho Squash Open ended when second seed Peter Barker beat eighth seed Bradley Ball in four games in the 2-star PSA Tour event final in Vancouver, Canada.

After upsetting two higher-ranked players to make the final, Ball was unable to make it a hat-trick despite taking Barker, the new world No20, to tie-breaks in two of the games.

Barker, from Upminster in Essex, ultimately triumphed 11-10 (2-0), 6-11, 11-10 (2-0), 11-8 to claim his ninth PSA Tour title in his 11th final.

The England international delighted the Vancouver crowd when he announced that he would return to the city next year to defend his Coastal Contacts title.

Ball Breaks Ryding To Set Up Barker Final In Vancouver
England's Bradley Ball maintained his giant-killing run in the Coastal Contacts Jericho Squash Open to reach the final of the 2-star PSA Tour event in Vancouver, Canada .

Just 24 hours after taking out third-seeded compatriot Simon Parke, the eighth seed battled for 79 minutes to overcome Canada's top seed Graham Ryding 11-4, 9-11, 11-10 (3-1), 2-11, 11-4.

The 30-year-old from Ipswich in Suffolk will now face fellow countryman Peter Barker after the left-hander from Essex brushed aside Canada 's fourth seed Matthew Giuffre 11-4, 11-7, 11-5 in just 28 minutes.

Ball, who enjoys the distinction of being the second highest Englishman in the list of winners of PSA Tour titles, is now in his 19th Tour final while Barker celebrates his 11th.

Ball Punishes Parke In Vancouver
Bradley Ball upset English compatriot Simon Parke in an 80-minute marathon to secure a surprise semi-final place in the Coastal Contacts Jericho Squash Open in Vancouver, Canada .

Ball, the No8 seed from Ipswich in Suffolk, beat the third-seeded Yorkshireman 11-5, 6-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-8 and will now face Canada's top seed Graham Ryding for a place in the final of the 2-star PSA Tour event.

Ryding was extended for 88 minutes by fifth-seeded compatriot Shawn Delierre before winning 10-11 (2-4), 11-5, 11-8, 10-11 (0-2), 11-5.

The other semi-final will also be an English/Canadian clash in which second seed Peter Barker will take on Canada 's fourth seed Matthew Giuffre.

While the left-hander from Essex swept to an 11-5, 11-4, 11-5 in 32 minutes over Mexican Eric Galvez, Giuffre needed 72 minutes to overcome India's sixth seed Saurav Ghosal 10-11 (0-2), 11-4, 6-11, 11-9, 11-10 (3-1).

Phillips Boosts Home Hopes In Coastal Contacts Open
David Phillips beat fellow Canadian Keith Pritchard 11-3, 11-9, 11-2 in the qualifying finals of the Coastal Contacts Jericho Squash Open to boost the domestic interest in the 2-star PSA Tour event at the Jericho Tennis Club in Vancouver, Canada .

Phillips, a 26-year-old from Montreal , is drawn to meet Eric Galvez in the first round. The No7 seed from Mexico arrives in Vancouver fresh from his victory in last week's Saskatoon Boast Open in Saskatchewan .

Canadian No1 Graham Ryding is seeded to win the Coastal Contacts Open crown. The world No19 from Toronto, who takes on Bermuda's Nicholas Kyme in the first round, is expected to face this month's world top 20 debutant Peter Barker, from England, in Sunday's final.
