David Palmer commits to the Australian Open
in August

In what could be David’s last year on the PSA tour, David will try to finish on a winning note in August at the Australian Open. As a Super Series Platinum event, the Open in Canberra is likely to attract the top 16 players in the world as they compete for points to become the Super Series champion. This will make the task of winning his home championships more challenging but enjoyable. David is hoping that Australian squash enthusiasts will get behind him and the other Australian players at the Open. A parochial crowd is something he has not had the benefit of for years. The Championships will be played in the National Convention Centre in the CBD of Canberra. This spacious and high quality venue includes the Royal Theatre and the Exhibition Hall – both to be used extensively during the Open. The Royal Theatre will allow up to 2,000 people to sit in comfort while watching the finals on the all-glass court. The Exhibition Hall will have a second glass court, a Racket Village showcasing the latest high-tech equipment and the Dead Nick Bar for food, drink, meeting and socialising
