Dunlop Squash Sign Nick Matthew

DUNLOP SQUASH SIGN NICK MATTHEW

Dunlop is pleased to announce that Nick Matthew has signed a four year deal with the brand, to endorse Dunlop squash rackets, luggage, string, grips and balls.

The 28-year-old currently ranks 12th in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Men’s World Rankings, and will be using the new Dunlop Aerogel 4D Evolution 120 racket, a signature series frame, available as part of the new 2009 Dunlop squash range. This racket is engineered with Aerogel and 4D braiding, delivering a perfect balance of power and control for unsurpassed playability. The Evo 120 also has a raw frame weight of 120g making it the lightest racket ever produced by Dunlop.

Matthew made his mark on squash history in 2006 when he became the first English home-grown British Open Champion for 67 years, rounding off a sensational year which began with him being crowned British National Champion for the first time and also included him winning the British Grand Prix title. In 2007 he defeated compatriot James Willstrop in the final of the US Open and was also member of the England teams which won the Men’s World Team Squash Championships in both 2005 and 2007. Matthew has achieved a highest World Ranking of No.5.

Nick Matthew said; “It’s fantastic to be joining the world’s number one squash brand and becoming part of the Dunlop pro player team. Dunlop is renowned for producing great playing rackets and the new Evo 120 is no exception. I am looking forward to even more success with Dunlop over the next four years.”

Dunlop’s Sponsorship Manager, Sunny Singh said; “Dunlop is very proud to have Nick representing the brand and looks forward to supporting Nick to more success in future. Nick is a fantastic ambassador for the sport and a role model for younger players developing their game. Dunlop is committed to support squash at all levels and with players of Nick's calibre continuing to endorse and enjoy the brand, Dunlop's position as the world's number one squash brand cannot be questioned."

Having been forced to withdraw through injury from successive British National Championships since winning the title in 2006, Nick can be guaranteed to challenge for the men’s title to be staged at the National Squash Centre at Sportcity, Manchester, England from the 9th to 15th February.

Dunlop’s current stable of top 10 world ranked ambassadors include world number two Amr Shabana, Gregory Gaultier (ranked 4th) and Ong Beng Hee (ranked 10th), all of them endorsing Dunlop Aerogel 4D technology.
