TEAM EVENT
Pakistan prevented Malaysia taking a clean sweep
of gold medals with a 3-0 victory over the hosts in the team final. In the women's final Malaysia beat India 3-0. Results

Ong Beng Hee & Nicol David
retain titles for Malaysia

Malaysia's defending champions and top seeds, Ong Beng Hee and Nicol David, successfully defended their Asian Championship titles in Kuala Lumpur. Both finals were repeats of the 2000 event, but whereas two years ago both Malaysians were taken to five, this time both won in three games.
