Dipika Pallikal Karthik wins Squash Player’s Player of
the Month award

Pallikal Karthik has been named Squash Player’s Female Player of the
Month for August after winning her second Indian national title in
July.
The 24-year-old from Chennai marked her first appearance at the
event since 2011 by upsetting world no.12 and top seed Joshna
Chinappa in the final.
“Winning the national title is always special,” Pallikal Karthik
commented. “My matches with Joshna have always been hard ones, but I
knew I had a chance of winning the title.
“I didn’t play the Nationals for many years. I was fighting for
equal pay and it finally happened this year.”
The world no.19’s next goals are to win “big matches”, return to the
PSA top 10 and to stay injury-free.
