CLUB OF YEAR ANNOUNCEMENT
The announcement of the Club of the Year is to be made with the
publication of the Squash Player magazine on the 23 May 2016. A panel of
experts from Squash Player have sifted though nominations from around
the country to select the club that best reflects its award criteria.
Squash Player writer Mike Dale visits the club but regrets he does not
take his racket. A feature on the club will appear in the magazine and
on the Squash Player website on that date.
Following a period of consultation the panel set the criteria for Club
of the Year.
Criteria for Squash Player Club of the Year:
- A welcoming environment
- A pro-active membership policy
- Significant achievement in competitions
- Supportive of county and England Squash events
- Good, if not excellent, presentation of facilities
- A comprehensive squash activities programme
- A very good coaching programme of lessons and classes
- Easily accessible junior activities, including after-school
- Partnership with schools and community groups
- A programme of social activities
