Squash Player's Annual Youth Awards

Egypt Dominate Youth Awards

Egypt carry off all three of the 2015 Squash Player annual youth awards – the Young Players of the Year and the Most Improved Player of the Year.

The honours – announced in Issue 1 of the magazine, which comes out at the end of the week – go to Nouran Gohar (right), Mazen Hesham and Ali Farag.

Gohar receives the Young Female Player of the Year after following up two major under-19 titles – the British Junior Open and World Junior Championship – by finishing runner-up at the China Open and entering the world top 10.

Hesham, 21, gets the male version after becoming a surprise British Open quarter-finalist in May and reaching the semi-finals of the Qatar Classic, which lifted him to 13th in the world rankings.

Farag (left) achieved an even bigger leap in the rankings – from 86 to 22 – and so was an obvious choice for Most Improved Player of the Year.

The Harvard University graduate old enjoyed a 36-9 win-loss year, including a run of 12 straight wins, which took in two titles in Ireland and a run to the Sharm El Sheikh International final.
