David
wins Squash Player’s Player of the Month award

Nicol David has been named Female Player of the Month for January by
the London-based Squash Player magazine after winning the Hong Kong
Women's Open for the 10th consecutive time in December.
The eight-time world champion ended what has been a lean year by her
high standards by winning her first World Tour event since February
with a 3/0 victory over the in-form Laura Massaro in the final.
David, who did not drop a game in the $95,000 event, said
afterwards: "Winning the title in Hong Kong for the 10th time means
so, so much to me. I love playing here and it’s a very special place
for me.
"I really wanted to win this title and end the year strongly, so
winning was extra special. I enjoyed every minute on court.
"This tournament has been one of the best I have ever played and
from now on it’s all upwards. If I keep playing the way I’m playing
and performing well, then I know titles will start to come again.”
