Top Four Seeds Move Through To Women’s Malaysian Tour Semi-finals

#PSAWorldTour

The top four seeded players will contest the semi-final spots in the Malaysian Tour Squash VIII, PSA W5 event after they recorded relatively comfortable victories over their unseeded counterparts.

Teh Min Jie overcame Noor Shadira in her match after a good start enabled her to build up a two-game advantage.

Shadira recovered well to claw a game back in the third but top seed Min Jie redoubled her efforts in the next game to wrap up an 11-5, 11-5, 12-14, 11-3 triumph to ensure that she will compete in the last four.

Her semi-final opponent, Rachel Arnold, achieved her place there after recovering from a 1-0 deficit to beat Aika Azman in four.

Sarah Cardwell remains on course for second successive PSA World Tour title after she came through a four-game battle with Sivasangari Subramaniam. Her reward is a semi-final matchup with Vanessa Raj who is looking to reach a fourth final on the 2015 instalment of the Malaysian Tour.

Seeds Sail Through To Women’s Malaysian Tour Quarter-final

#PSAWorldTour

World No.59 Teh Min Jie led all eight seeded players into the quarter-final of the Malaysian Tour Squash VIII, PSA W5 tournament with a series of comfortable wins allowing them to ease through.

Min Jie was one of only two players to drop a game in her match against fellow Malaysian Lai Wen Li but she held firm to record an 11-8, 11-8, 11-13, 13-11 triumph to seal her spot in the last eight.

She is set to face Noor Shadira there after the number eight seed blitzed past Aifa Azman with a 3-0 margin of victory.

Second seed Sarah Cardwell, fresh off the back of lifting silverware at last week’s Queensland Open, continued her imperious form with a straight games victory against Korea’s Hwayeong Eum. Cardwell will go up against Sivasangari Subramaniam in the next round after the Malaysian dispatched Ooi Kah Yan in three.

Two-time 2015 Malaysian Tour runner-up Vanessa Raj kept her title hopes alive with a straightforward win over Neha Kamal Khan setting up a quarter-final encounter with Zulhijjah Binti Azan who saw off Chan Yiwen.

Meanwhile, Rachel Arnold booked her quarter-final berth with a comfortable triumph against Zahab Khan and is rewarded with a next round clash with Aika Azman after she downed India’s Janet Vidhi.
