Any Presence Open 2015
Comeback King Zaman Claims Any Presence Title World
No.68 Farhan Zaman mounted a stunning comeback from 2-0 down to
overcome Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi and capture the Any Presence Open,
PSA M10 crown.
The Pakistani number three seed stormed to victory against Jaakko
Vähämaa in the semi-final while Al Tamimi dispatched second seed
Shawn Delierre in four.
It was the 20-year-old Qatari who started the stronger of the two
with his burgeoning potential evident as he took an 11-8 lead
through a combination of deft touches and crafty deception. His
penchant for cross-court nicks was noticeable in the second game as
he went on to double his advantage.
The scores were level in the opening stages of the third game before
a number of audacious volley drops from Zaman swung the momentum in
his favour as he rose to an 11-6 triumph before levelling things up
by taking the fourth 11-9.
The fifth and final game featured a number of gruelling rallies and
Al Tamimi took a painful tumble after a particularly bruising
succession of shots. This worked in Zaman’s favour as he continued
on to complete an 8-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-6 victory to lift his
fourth PSA World Tour title.
