Koukal
Makes History In Chateau-Arnoux Final
#PSAWorldTour
Jan Koukal became the first player to win a PSA World Tour title for
a 12th successive year after he lifted the 3rd Open Squash Provence
Chateau-Arnoux, PSA M5 title after beating Chris Fuller in a mammoth
final.
Koukal came into the final in fine fettle, dispatching number four
seed Robert Downer in the previous round. Fuller meanwhile defeated
Mark Fuller in straight games to achieve his final berth.
Czech No.1 Koukal (below) took the opening game before he was pegged
back by the Englishman in the second. Fuller grew in confidence
after his success in the second game and took the third in a
comfortable victory.
The experienced Koukal had to dig in deep but managed to swing the
pendulum back in his favour and rose to claim the final two games to
secure an 11-8, 8-11, 6-11, 11-4, 11-7 victory to earn his first PSA
World Tour title of 2015.
The triumph put him fifth in the current list of PSA World Tour
title winners with 32, behind Mike Corren (50), Ramy Ashour (36),
Nick Matthew (33) and Amr Shabana (33).
Awe-Inspiring Aubert Through To Main Draw In
Chateau_Arnoux

Frenchman Benjamin Aubert starred on home-soil to dump out top
qualifying seed Xavi Blasco in the final qualifying round of the 3rd
Open Squash Provence Chateau-Arnoux, PSA M5 tournament and advance
to the main draw of a PSA World Tour event for the first time.
The 17-year-old demonstrated his enormous potential with a sublime
performance that saw him storm to victory in straight games after he
dropped just a handful of points throughout the whole match.
He will face England’s Ben Ford in the first round of the main draw
as he aims to continue impressing in front of his home crowd.
Charlie Lee will join him there after he shocked number three seed
Sindre Roaldsoy in a similarly dominant display. After romping to
victory in three games, Lee has also made it through to the main
draw for the first time and faces the main draw’s top seed Chris
Fuller.
Miles Jenkins defeated Sam Ellis and Aitor Zunzunegui beat Robert
Dadds to set up next round ties with Chris Hall and Jan Joukal,
respectively.
