A second WSA World Tour
title in a week is the reward for Hong Kong's Vanessa Chu after
triumphing in today's final of the Women's Malaysian Squash Tour Leg
4 at the Bukit Jalil National Squash Centre in the Malaysian
capital Kuala Lumpur.
After winning last week's
third leg in Penang, third seed Chu made it two Malaysian Tour finals in
a row after recovering from two games down in the country's latest
WSA Challenger 5 event semi-final to beat lower-ranked compatriot
Lee Ka Yi in five games.
The 20-year-old's opponent in
the final was Teh Min Jie, the No.4 seed from Malaysia who upset
second-seeded compatriot Vanessa Raj in straight games in the
other semi.
19-year-old Teh, celebrating
her second Tour final, drew level after her higher-seeded opponent took
the opening game - but Chu struck back to close out the match 11-4,
6-11, 11-8, 11-7 to extend her Tour winning streak to eight matches.
"I'm so, so, happy because
I won my second WSA title in a row," said Chu.
"I played so well within these two weeks!"
