Chinappa wins Squash Player’s Player of the
Month award

Chinappa has won her first Squash Player Women’s Player of the Month
award after being crowned Indian national champion for a record 17th
time.
The 32-year-old – who previously held the Indian record with
Bhuvaneswari Kumari (1977-1992) – moved ahead on her own by justifying
her top seeding with an 11-5, 11-4, 7-11, 11-5 victory over Sunayna
Kuruvilla in the final.
Chinappa, who won her first national senior title aged just 14, joined
Germany’s Sabine Schone and Finland’s Olli Tuominen in the global roll
of honour for national titles, and is now only three away from the top
of that list.
After a summer training in England, the world no.13 begins her new PSA
Tour campaign at the China Open in Shanghai in September
