Women's October Rankings

Serme Returns to Top Four in Women’s World Rankings as David Exits Top 10

France’s Camille Serme has returned to the world’s top four, while Malaysia's eight-time World Champion Nicol David has seen her 15-year run inside the top 10 come to an end after the PSA Women's World Rankings for October were released today (October 1).

Créteil-based Serme began her season with a runner-up finish at the J.P. Morgan China Squash Open in September, beating World No.1 Nour El Sherbini in the semi-finals, before falling to World No.2 Raneem El Welily in the title decider.

Meanwhile David, who topped the World Rankings for nine uninterrupted years between 2006-2015, has dropped two places to No.11, bringing an end to her record 177-month unbroken run in the world’s top 10 in the process.

Elsewhere, Egypt’s Nour El Tayeb stays at No.3, while Commonwealth Games gold medalist Joelle King drops a place to No.5.

England’s Laura Massaro rises a place to No.6, switching places with Egypt’s Nouran Gohar in the process, while her compatriot Sarah-Jane Perry stays at No.8.

As a result of David's exit from the top 10, England’s Alison Waters and Hong Kong’s Annie Au both rise into the top 10, while David is followed by Wales’ Tesni Evans (No.12), England’s Victoria Lust (No.13), India’s Joshna Chinappa (No.14) and Egypt’s Salma Hany, who complete the top 15.

United States No.1 Olivia Blatchford drops two places to No.16 and now sits two spots ahead of compatriot Amanda Sobhy, with Australia’s Donna Lobban sandwiched in between.

Egyptian teenager Hania El Hammamy moves up a place to a career-high No.19 ranking, while England’s Emily Whitlock returns to the top 20 after a five-month absence courtesy of her Nash Cup title win in September.
