Paris Raises Squash's Olympic Hopes
With
Paris almost certain to be given the go-ahead in September to stage
the 2024 Olympics, Squash Player reports that squash is hoping it
might be put forward as a new Olympic sport by the host city.
As World Squash Federation president Jacques Fontaine is also a
French National Olympic Committee member, Rod Gilmour looks at the
chances of squash finally being welcomed on to the Olympic
programme.
Mike Dale and James Zug analyse the two different forms of doubles -
softball and hardball - which may be part of any squash Olympic bid.
Dale also reports on Egypt's complete domination of the World Junior
Championships, while Richard Eaton interviews double former world
junior champion Marwan ElShorbagy, now the world no.7.
There is a competition to win one of two Harrow Response rackets as
used by ElShorbagy and a rules quiz, where the prize is a pair of
Asics Gel-Beyond 5 shoes as worn by Laura Massaro when she won the
British Open.
All the regular sections are there as well, including Drew's
Diagnosis, Physio's Therapy, On Court, Off Court, Coaches' Corner,
Practice Routines, Mastershot and History, while Roshan Khan is the
latest addition to our Hall of Fame.
