Change of Menu for
Finals Day Feast

Eventis Sports Marketing has announced a change in line-up to the feast of top quality squash complementing this year’s grand final of the Mamut English Open, hosted by Sheffield City Council.

An achilles injury that ruled her out of the recent WISPA event in Brunei forces the withdrawal of Cassie Jackman from the Women's Challenge. However, Eventis are delighted to announce that World no.13 Vicky Botwright will line-up against Yorkshire’s World no.10 Jenny Duncalf. The Prince/Wilson Women’s Challenge will give spectators the chance to see two of the rising stars of the womens game battle it out before the grand final.

Injury will also prevent squash fanatic Ellery Hanley from taking to the portable court. The former GB Rugby League captain hurt his hamstring whilst out training for next months Superstars competition and is gutted that he won’t be able to play. “As a squash enthusiast it was fantastic to be able to play on the court last year and I was really looking forward to having another chance, but the injury will take a couple of weeks to heal.” explained Hanley. Eventis have, however, once again found a high quality replacement in the shape of Premiership referee Uriah Rennie. His opponent is yet to be announced but, it should be interesting seeing the referee being refereed!

The grand final of the Mamut English Open will complete proceedings. With a star studded field including World no.1 Peter Nicol, the holder hot hitting John White and Yorkshire’s World no.2 Lee Beachill, it is sure to be a fantastic ending to a great day's squash.

“Obviously we were disappointed that injuries have robbed the crowd of the chance of seeing Cassie & Ellery in action, but in Vicky & Uriah we have two fabulous replacements that are sure to put on a great show. Vicky shot to fame over the ‘thong’ incident, but her results in recent months have demonstrated that she is so much more than that, while Uriah is seen in millions of households every Saturday night and has been a great sport in stepping in at short notice,” said Tim Garner, of Eventis Sports Marketing
