06-Aug-04:
Cassie Jackman
Gets Local Support
Ladies World Squash star, Cassie Jackman MBE, has lived in Norfolk
all her life. Ranked number one in the world until forced to miss the
recent Brunei Open through injury, and recently awarded an MBE, she could,
perhaps, expect wide support from the region's businesses.
However, until recently, this has been limited to memberships of the gym
and sports clubs where she trains and plays.
Norfolk Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers,
Martin & Acock
welcomed the opportunity to help Cassie fund her campaign to regain her
Number One spot. Cassie travels to tournaments all over the world and has
to fund the bulk of her costs from her tournament winnings.
Chris Dugdale, partner in Martin & Acock, said “We are delighted to be
able to offer a sponsorship package to Cassie. She’s a real local hero,
and we’re proud to be associated with someone from Norfolk who has
consistently achieved the highest possible honours in her sport.”
Martin & Acock have agreed a sponsorship deal with Cassie for the coming
year, and are confident that their association with the sports star will
bring a range of benefits. “We aim to raise the profiles of both Martin &
Acock and Cassie,” said Martin & Acock Marketing Manager, Brenda Gostling.
“She’s a great ambassador for the sport and invests a great deal of her
time in helping Norfolk’s junior squash players. We’re delighted to be
working with her.”
In return, Cassie is more than happy to wear Martin & Acock’s logo. “This
deal will make a big difference to me, and I’m looking forward to getting
involved in Martin & Acock’s events programme over the coming months.”
Martin & Acock partners, Chris Dugdale and Alistair Fish, joined Cassie to
announce the sponsorship at Barnham Broom Golf and Country Club, where
Cassie regularly trains and plays. Cassie will take the opportunity to
wear the Martin & Acock logo for the first time in competition during
September both at the Bahrain Classic and the World Team Championships in
Amsterdam. |
