the SquashPlayer Summer
Tournament Poll ... |
|
Tuesday 27th July
HALL OF FAME
MEN'S FINAL
Jahangir
Khan bt Jansher Khan
73% - 27% ( 348 - 127 )
Jahangir took an early lead,
and never looked back as the WSF president secured his place as the winner
of the SquashPlayer Summer 'Greatest Player of All Time" ... well, until
the next time!
WOMEN'S FINAL
Heather McKay bt Sarah Fitz-Gerald
51% - 49% ( 175 - 169 )
It was a close-run thing, with McKay leading throughout the day's polling.
She maintained a 10-15 vote lead throughout the day, but as the votes
piled up the percentage narrowed.
The winner of the Women's all-time great tournament poll ...

VOTING UPDATE: 3rd
July
Voting for the top eight has now closed, with a total 2,852 votes
and suggestions. The men's field has a familiar look, perhaps
weighted
a little towards the recent players, while the women's list shows a
distinct Antipodean leaning.

Who are the greatest
players of all time ?
The debate has raged for decades, and there
have been many polls allowing squash fans to cast their vote.
But now, thanks to an idea from Radio 5 Live's Wimbledon coverage, we have
devised a format that allows you to really get involved and introduce a
bit of life to the quiet summer period.
We're going to take eight of the best ever men, eight of the
best ever women, and put them into two tournament draws.
Each Monday to Thursday one match will be put to the vote, as you
get to decide who you think would win on the day. We'll be previewing each
match, to give you an idea of the players' qualities.
After 14 matches we will have two champions, and the 'greatest of all
time' will be crowned. Well, until next time, anyway ...
