FORMER ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL URGES SQUASH COACHES TO SIGN UP TO FACILITATE UPTAKE OF THE SPORT

Coach4you.co.uk, a dynamic online sporting community which will facilitate access to coaches of all disciplines by the public, schools and local authorities, went live recently.  Co-founder of www.coach4you.co.uk and former England badminton international, Lee Clapham says: “Coach4you.co.uk’s objectives include increasing the take up of squash at all levels of age, ability and demographic and enhancing the opportunity for squash coaches to grow their client list.

Lee Chapman

“It has taken around fifteen months to develop the site. Now the infrastructure is in place we must build the coach population to meet the needs of visitors to the site – including the public, schools, local authorities – who are seeking coaching expertise. I therefore urge all forward-looking squash coaches to promote themselves by signing up now at www.coach4you.co.uk

“Thousands of people search online for coaches and personal trainers. We are running a free introductory membership period, valid from now until 28th February 2007, so coaches and instructors should find this out for themselves by promoting their expertise free in our www.coach4you.co.uk virtual shop window before paid membership begins on March 1 2007.”

Lee, developed the concept when he realised that there was little or no online information about coaches in terms of their CVs or indeed how to contact them.  The only way for a coach to showcase their skills has been to have a website designed and built for them, which could prove very costly and time-consuming!

FORMER ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL URGES SQUASH 2/
Coach4you.co.uk is free to use with no need for members of the public to register.  The site will enable visitors to find the contact details, qualifications and accreditations of squash coaches, which can be searched by name, region, post code or sport in addition to clubs in their locales. The site also provides health & fitness details and the details of 17,641 fitness, leisure and sports clubs.

Coach4you.co.uk has a secure ‘Member’ section for coaches and two categories of membership, Key Member for an annual £30 + VAT fee and Key Premier Member for £75 + VAT, keeping costs to a minimum to encourage growth of the online community.  Key Premier Member benefits include:

  • Their own web presence - a 24/7 shop window to the public, schools, clubs, local authorities

  • Access to downloadable lesson plans and tournament sheets

  • Access to local & national vacancies

  • Interactive online business support & mentoring services, e.g. filling in tax forms

  • Access to a comprehensive database of schools

  • Reduced cost courses where available from governing body or affiliated companies

  • Free meta tag listing on all major search engines

Lee continues: “In addition to benefits such as enjoying a presence in a national coach portal, ensuring that they are up to date with the current thinking on their sports and increasing the opportunity to share their expertise, I hope that coaches share best practice with each other, and also help each other out, for example offering to cover for each other at holiday times or even working together to set up a better sports’ network within their communities.

“At the start of every season, pundits talk about grass roots sport and how more needs to be done to encourage youngsters’ participation.  A real obstacle is lack of awareness of how to access coaches, so I trust that squash coaches register on www.coach4you.co.uk not only so they can take on more clients but also so that they can hopefully nurture the stars of the future.“
