The final competition of the week will be the Hyder Trophy, which begins on Thursday, May 4 in New York City.

The Challenger 10 level competition will feature both a men’s and women’s draw, as the event returns to the Tour calendar for the first time since 2019.

After winning twice in April, Egypt’s Yassin Elshafei will be the top seed for this week’s men’s event. He will aiming for a third win in four tournaments, and could possibly face Aly Hussein in the final once more, after doing so for his two wins last month.

The Spanish duo of Edmon Lopez and Ivan Perez will be in the top four seeds, with the rest of the eight seeded players being made up of Israeli Daniel Poleshchuk, Guatemala’s Josue Enriquez, Egypt’s Mohamed Nasser and Malaysia’s Sanjay Jeeva.

New Zealand’s Kaitlyn Watts will be the top seed in the women’s draw. However, Rana Ismail and Alicia Mead, the No.3 and No.4 seeds for the competition, will be ranked higher than the Kiwi when the tournament gets underway.

India’s Akanksha Salunkhe, Mexico’s Diana Garcia, Australian Alex Haydon, Singaporean No.1 Au Yeong Wai Yhann and Malaysia’s Wen Li Lai will make up the rest of the eight seeds in the women’s draw.

In total, three Americans will be in action on home soil. Jamie Ruggiero joins wildcard Hollis Robertson in the men’s draw, while Jhansi Bhavsar will be the wildcard in the women’s event, as she makes just her second appearance on Tour.
