England Squash Celebrates its
75th
in style
England Squash celebrated its 75th anniversary in
style on Wed 10th March. Known as the Squash Rackets Association (SRA) for
most of its history and based in London, it returned to its roots for the
occasion at the RAC Club in Pall Mall.The club's
Mountbatten room was the venue for several hundred guests, including many
legends of the game past and present.
England squash President Mike Corby hosted the
gathering, with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh guest of honour as a
long-standing patron of the association.
Other guests included Peter Chalk, Peter Nicol, Lisa Opie,
Azam Khan, Michael Oddy, Alison Cummings, Nigel Broomfield, Bob Morris, Alex
Cowie, John Easter, Sheila Macintosh, Andrew Shelley, Ann Gee, Gawain
Briars, Ted Wallbutton, David Pearson, Neil Harvey, Paul Carter, Stuart and
Jane Courtney, Phil Ayton, Bob Johnson, Pat Kirton, members of the press and
many others.
