COLETS & NEW ELTHAM RETAIN NATIONAL CLUB TITLES

Surrey's Colets Thames Ditton and London's New Eltham retained the men's and women's titles, respectively, in the Pro Kennex National Club Squash Championships at Birmingham University at the weekend.

After a 4-1 win over Chichester in the semi-finals, Colets whitewashed Yorkshire club Pontefract 5-0 in a repeat of the 2000 men's final to secure the title for the fourth time since 1994.

New Eltham survived a tough semi-final encounter against Birmingham's Edgbaston Priory, winning 3-2, before trouncing Nottingham 4-1 in the final to lift the women's title for the second successive year.
