FINAL:
Koukal Claims
Czech Title
Czech squash star Jan Koukal chose the ideal
location to celebrate his first title success on the PSA Tour when
he beat top seed Peter Genever in straight
games in the final.
Koukal, 20, known as 'Kouki' by his legion of loyal fans in the
Czech Republic, despatched the English favourite 15-9 15-12 17-15 to
clinch his first senior international title in his third PSA final.
"Kouki's win in Prague, of all places, made him very ecstatic," said
tournament organiser Tomas Cvikl. "He is in very good shape and in
excellent health.
He took the advantage of home turf to the fullest, and his fans
offered great support. Simply, Kouki is very happy!"

No joy for Czechs
in Qualifying
Two rounds of qualifying action today saw all the
Czech players lose out, with only Jan Zemlica reaching the
qualifying finals, where he went down in straight games to Italy's
Andrea Bianchetti.
This leaves Czech number one Jan Koukal to carry the flag
into Thursday's first round.
England's top seed Peter Genever is aiming to repeat his
Czech success of 2003, with Wales' David Evans seeded to meet him in
the final.
The recent Junior Open at Prague's SquashPoint
club was billed "Kill Ball".
