JP Morgan Retain Top Spot
With over 6,000 athletes arriving in
Newcastle and Gateshead for a weekend of competition in 22 sports, it was
the money men that prevailed once again in the squash section.
Adsa's Matt Lowery retained his men's open title, beating JP
Morgan's Michael Ypes 15/5, 15/8, Price Waterhouse Coopers took the
team title with a nailbiting 2-1 win over Irish newcomers McMurray and Co,
but with strong showing in many of the 10 events it was JP Morgan
who collected the most points, to retain their overall squash title.

Multi-Sports Festival
Squash continues to be one of the great events in the
UK & Ireland Corporate Games, now in its 11th year.
Hosted by the cities of Newcastle and Gateshead, the Games saw some
6,000 athletes participate in a weekend of sporting competition, parades
and celebrations, June 25 - 27.
Squash was staged at the long established and highly regarded Eldon
Leisure Sports Centre – a previous host to the National Squash
Championships.
In the heart of Newcastle city centre it boasts 6 squash courts and is
overlooked by a pier providing excellent viewing for spectators. Every
player is ensured a minimum of 3 matches per entry and can compete in the
singles and 3 person team events.
In addition to Squash there are 22 different sports on the
programme, which include, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Dragon Boat
Racing, Golf, Hockey, Karting, Match Fishing, Netball, Rugby, Running,
Soccer, Table Tennis, Tennis, Tenpin Bowling, Touch and Volleyball. Sports
will be hosted at venues across the region.
